A Linearized Dynamic Model of a Flexible-Link Planar Mechanism

Abstract: Vibration control of flexible link mechanisms with more than two flexible link is still an open question, mainly because defining an adequate model is not an easy task. In this work, a dynamic non-linear model of a flexible-link planar mechanism, and its linearization about an equilibrium point are presented. Simulation results are shown, which prove that the error made in using the linearized system instead of the non-linear one is very small.
