NeRebot: a wire-based robot for neurorehabilitation
In Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics ICORR03, Daejeon, Republic of Korea, April 2003
| | Abstract: This paper presents the design of a wire-based robot for
neurorehabilitation called NeRebot. The robot has 3 DoFs
and, basically, consists in a set of 3 wires independently
driven by 3 DC motors. The wires support and move the arm
of the patient, assuring a safety and easy to deliver therapy.
Patients that could benefit from NeRebot are people that
present movement deficits from neurological injury or
disease. The design of NeRebot takes into consideration
problems related to the patient treatment especially during
the flaccid phase. | |
