AutoMap is the prototype of an automatic system, based on artificial vision, for identification and mapping of defects on tanned leathers. The prototype is able to perform automatic scan of both front and back sides of the leather, by using a leather overturning system. The prototype is made up of rotary table, on which the leather is placed, and a translating chassis, housing the linear CCD camera used for defect detection, the lighting system, the leather brushing system and the vacuum hood used to turn the leather. |
