Marco Giovagnoni graduated at Genova University in 1979 in civil engineering. In the years 1979-1983 he was first with Honeywell Information Systems at the R&D laboratory in Pregnana Milanese and later on with Italimpianti in Genova. In the years 1984-1987 he has been assistant professor in "Mechanical measurements" at Padova University at the Institute for mechanics of machines and later on in the years 1987-1994 he has been associate professor of "Mechanics of machines" at Udine University at the Institute for theoretical and applied mechanics. He is now full professor of "Mechanical vibrations" at Udine University at the Department for electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and management. He has been head of this same department in the years 2001-2003. He is now doing industrial research with some industries of Friuli region, as for instance Electrolux Home Products Italy, in the field of mechanical vibrations.
